TV Shows, Drama, Reality & My Life
This is more of a DiRictor blog. It seems that there has been some internal mess which has been made.
Now this mess isn't something new which we haven't seen, however, it is somethin we (I) have seen a couple of times. So with the preface that I am not new to this situation, I will try to break down some of my thoughts on this.....
I'm sure many have seen a reality show of some sort. The only issue with actually really embracing what goes on with these reality shows is that.... they're a competition and my dance company isn't. So as seen on shows like Top Chef, they don't care who is an asshole or not. They care about good food. As a director, I've tried to embrace this because ultimately when it comes down to dance, that's what it's about. Of course I have to have some guidelines and a company integrity to uphold. Since the judges on the show only have to uphold the integrity of the contestants food, that is all they see and care about in terms of integrity. Well, that and when they have to stand in front of the judges for comments.
Anyhow, I'm trying to see if I can draw any significance from this because it appears that there's such a fine line between what's right & wrong, and of course who & how the job was done.
If someone is an asshole, scumbag, rude, or whatever..... do they lose their job because of it? In some workplaces, they do.... in others they don't. I feel I have a unique situation. It's not about picking a side, or even figuring what's right & wrong. I feel it's what's best for PDC. Who wants to still be in PDC and who wants to try and make it better.
It's not about people's feelings, I know people got them and they get hurt. But seriously, if it's effecting the group, then there isn't much I can do, ya know? It's on the individual and I feel they should be able to make the choice.
To Be Continued..........
