Double-Edged Sword (pt 1)
Socially speaking...... I don't understand society and the mutual rules of the 'game'.
For instance, it's not that women don't trust men, but women most often don't trust other women. Why is that? Why is it that, men are the trusted ones, but still have to suffer the repercussions or insecurities?
Why does a man have to ask a woman out now a days? Women have fought for rights to vote, be in the military, etc. If women want to be president, I am all for it, and I'm all for a balance of equality on both ends. A woman can pick up a man on a date, it should be no problem. Say the club setting..... Everyone is all done up, lookin nice....... Women should be able to go and ask a guy to dance, ask for a drink, etc. It's a double-edged sword when a man has to do all the work, but has to abide by mutual guidelines.
If a woman wants freedom and a woman wants rights, again, I think it's something people should receive without question. For a guy to say anything about a girl "hitting on him" (or anything to that extent) to his girlfriend, he can be labeled as many things....
1) Stupid for saying anything (in most males heads)
2) Honest
3) Self-Assured
I'm sure there are many more. The problem with the scenario is, when a guy does it(mentions that he was hit on), a big majority of women tend to just have this big mental strike of ligtining. You can hear it in their tone, see it on their face, notice in their body language, etc. This goes back to the mutual game or guidelines of a relationship.
So should males not ever say anything?.......
Is that looked upon as being mischievious?
I don't know.
Is it looked at as not being honest?
I don't know.
It is looked at as being smart?
I don't know.
The problem is, women can do 'this' but men can't do 'this'. Of course, there are things which men 'do' that women aren't supposed (by mutual standards) 'do'. I feel the tables just aren't even. Women are allowed to get away with more, saying more, doing more, being more insecure than a man having troubles or not being able to say 'things'.
Is this fair?
I don't know.
Should it change?
I don't know.
Would it be smart to change?
I don't know.
